The fog is calling again. Konami and Bloober Team have shared new insights into how the Silent Hill 2 Remake will play, and it's a significant departure from the fixed camera angles of 2001.
Modernizing the Horror
The new over-the-shoulder perspective mimics the Resident Evil 2 Remake approach. This brings the player closer to the visceral horror of the creatures. James Sunderland is not a soldier, however. The developers emphasize that he will struggle in combat. The goal is to make you feel vulnerable, not powerful.
Sound Design
Akira Yamaoka returns to compose the score. Early previews suggest a mix of classic tracks and haunting new soundscapes that utilize 3D audio technology to whisper in your ear when you least expect it.
